The Story behind Coal Creek

We are Shannon and Mitch Wilburn, the owners of Coal Creek Farm. Transplants from Texas, but Okies for our entire married life.

When we aren't running Coal Creek Farm, Mitch is a local senior preaching pastor at the Park Church in Tulsa and Shannon is the Brand Ambassador and Co-founder of Just Between Friends Franchise System.

We have two grown children who have amazing spouses and two grandchildren, with one on the way! We are blessed!

The underlying current below Coal Creek Farm Jenks and our family is that we Love the Lord and His People! That is what drives our lives.

As anyone who has purchased land before knows, the road from first sight to ownership comes with its fair share of ups and downs.

After months of back and forth conversations about the property, plans being thwarted, working with the city and a developer, and financial hiccups along the way, the property that we now call Coal Creek Farm Jenks became ours with the gracious gift of Mitch's parent's, Boomie and Nanny Wilburn and the Lord's direction.

When you visit the property, you may come across seedlings of Dogwood trees - 100 of them to be exact - all planted in memory of Mitch's parents.

The Backstory

Welcome friends to Coal Creek Farm Jenks. We are excited to see what the Lord has in store, what Kingdom purposes will be revealed, and what lives will be renewed...in Jenks America! We can’t wait to meet you!

It's impossible to tell the story of Coal Creek Farm Jenks without remembering those who fostered a love for the outdoors in owners Shannon and Mitch Wilburn. Mitch's parents Nancy and Larry (or "Nanny and Boomie" as they were more commonly known) felt there was nothing closer to heaven on earth than Hawaii—except maybe their home in Quitman, Texas.
